BANANA

The Banana Plant, or Musa acuminata, is one of the most important fruiting plants on the planet Earth. A 2011 study of production and exportation of bananas by the Food and Agricultural Organization found that worldwide, a total crop of 145 million metric tones was produced and India led the world by producing 20% of this, followed by Philippines. We are proud exporters of bananas from these two countries.

RICE

Rice is the seed of the grass species Oryza sativa which was domesticated roughly 10,000 to 14,000 years ago. The two main edible subspecies of rice – Indica & Japonica - have both originated from Asia and historians believe that the Indica variety of rice was first domesticated in the area covering the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas (i.e. north-eastern India).
